PTA lifts ban on TikTok fourth time
The video-focused social networking site has assured to control immoral and indecent content.
The Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA) has once again lifted a ban on the services of TikTok after the platform gave an assurance to control immoral and indecent content.
The PTA had banned the services of TikTok earlier on July 20. Since then, the telecommunication authority remained in communications with the management of video-focused social networking service. As a result, the senior management TikTok assured PTA of its commitment to take necessary measures to control unlawful content in accordance with local laws and societal norms.
The social networking service site also assured the PTA that the users involved in uploading unlawful content on the site will be blocked.

The PTA authorities, keeping in view the assurances, decided to lift the ban on TiKToK with immediate effect.
PTA said that it will continue to monitor the social media platform to ensure that unlawful content, which is in violation to Pakistan’s law and societal values is not uploaded.
Tiktok was banned was first banned in Pakistan in October 2020, but was restored only after 10 days after the company assured it to block accounts involved in spreading with pornography.
This is the fourth time that the PTA has removed the ban from the social media platform.
