Teenage Boy Kidnapped, Raped And Murdered in Sukkur

The body of a teenage boy named Aafque Wagho was found on the terrace of a mosque in Sukkur and it was disclosed that the victim was kidnapped, raped, and murdered by an unidentified man.

Aafque was 14-years-old and a residence of Pano Akil tehsil of Sukkur district.

A Journalist Ayaz Noor took to his Twitter handle to report the incident and grab the attention of authorities.

In his tweet, Ayaz noted that the authorities had not taken notice of the brutal incident even after three days of the incident. He tried to start a trend using the hashtag #JusticeForAfaqWagho.

Pakistan witnessed a spike in the number of child rape cases, especially during the past couple of years.

According to 2020 statistics quoted by the child protection non-governmental organization (NGO) Sahil, child abuse cases have soared in Pakistan.

Punjab leads with 57% cases followed by Sindh with 32% and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has 6%.

Interestingly, some 62% cases were reported from rural areas and 38% reported from urban areas. Among the victims, 53% were girls and 47% were boys.

Renowned anchorperson Ajmal Jami retweeted Ayaz Noor’s post and asked the authorities of Sindh Police.

He tagged Chairperson of  Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Spokesperson of Sindh government Murtaza Wahab, and Sindh Information Minister Nasir Hussain Shah to take heed of barbaric incident.

In response to it, Nasir Shah wrote that the government had already launched action against the culprit and justice will be served to the victim’s family soon.

Jami continued and sought more details of the action.

At this, Shah responded that he would share it privately, citing the sensitivity of the information.
