600 killed, 80,000 vehicles and 30,000 mobile phones snatched in Karachi in 2022: report

The claims of the government and the security agencies to establish peace in Karachi turned out to be false. During the last year 2022, more than 55,000 motorcycles and around 23,000 vehicles were snatched or stolen from Karachiites.
According to the CPLC data, street crimes could not decrease in the city during the last year 2022. In the year 2022, 55,000 citizens lost their motorcycles and 23,000 were deprived of their cars.
More than 55,000 motorcycles were snatched or stolen from Karachiites in 2022. In the month of January 4,330 and 4,490 motorcycles were snatched or stolen in February.
4,711 in March, 4,305 in April, 4,840 in May, 4,566 in June, 4,377 in July, 5,320 in August, 4,980 in September, 5,105 in October and 5,050 motorcycles were snatched or stolen in November.
23,000 cars were snatched and stolen from citizens in 2022. 200 in January, 186 in February, 220 in March, 193 in April, 186 in May, 188 in June, 160 in July, 167 in August and 169 in September.
In 11 months of 2022, 30,000 mobile phones were taken from Karachiites. 2,499 in January, 2,199 in February, 4,416 in March, 2,118 in April, 2,658 in May and 2,600 in June, 2,154 in July, 2,677 in August, 2,446 in September, 2,260 in October and 2,372 in November, whereas, CPLC has not yet released the data for December.
2022 proved to be troublesome for the residents of Karachi. More than 600 people lost their lives in 11 months of 2022. 44 were killed in January, 34 in February, 43 in March, 46 in April, 65 in May, 44 in June, 52 in July, 44 in August, 56 in September and 57 in October.
