As facts unfold, the alleged kidnapping and release of the Afghan ambassador’s daughter is appearing to be a part of a conspiracy to tarnish Pakistan’s image.

Kabul has recalled its ambassador and senior diplomats from Islamabad after the kidnapping fiasco.

The daughter of the Afghan ambassador, Silsila, was reportedly kidnapped from a commercial area of the federal capital and subjected to torture. After an almost six-hour-long abduction, the victim was reportedly released too.

However, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed refuted claims of Afghan ambassador’s daughter kidnapping and termed the whole episode as an international conspiracy engineered by Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).

The compilation of developments in the case justifies the interior minister’s claims.

While speaking in a TV program, Sheikh Rasheed told that Silsila informed about using two taxis in the journey but the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and investigation showed she actually used three.

Silsila initially walked to the Khadda market for shopping. From there, she hired a normal cab to Daman-e-Koh and then another taxi from F-9 park.

The minister said Silsila reached Daman-e-Koh from Rawalpindi but she is denying visiting the twin city.

Sheikh Rasheed said one of the three taxi drivers has confirmed picking up Silsila from Rawalpindi and dropping her off at Daman-e-Koh.

He added they are just yet to trace another CCTV footage which would negate her claims.

He added that the ambassador’s daughter even used cellular internet at Daman-e-Koh.

Similarly, the victim had initially claimed that her cellphone had been snatched.

Later, she handed over her mobile phone to authorities but it was empty of data.

The interior minister has claimed that the probe into the incident would be completed within three days. He said the real picture of the entire scenario would be brought before the world.

Sheikh Rasheed blamed India for framing up the whole episode.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) regretted recalling Afghan emissaries to Kabul from Islamabad.

In the latest development, Pakistan has also recalled its ambassador from Afghanistan but for discussion on the matter.
