After Peshawar terrorists attack Karachi, but PM’s promised APC nowhere in sight

A national policy against terrorism could not be formed due to poor governance and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's visit to Turkey, Date after date for APC was given but not held, incompetence of government gave more confidence to terrorists

Due to the poor strategy of the government, after the worst bloodshed in Peshawar, the All Parties Conference (APC) has been postponed twice to formulate a unified national policy against terrorists.

After the terrorist attack in the mosque of Peshawar Police Lines, the government announced the holding of APC to formulate a unified national policy, but the government’s poor strategy became an obstacle in its way.

After the attack on the Peshawar Police Lines Mosque, the terrorists stormed the Police Head Office in Karachi, during which many officials lost their lives, but the APC has not been possible to hold yet.

The government announced to convene the APC on February 7 under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, but suddenly the federal government changed the date and announced to convene the APC on February 9.

The prime minister decided to go to Turkey on February 9 ignoring the country’s situation, and the matter of holding APC on February 9 also fell into disarray and then the new date was not even announced.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Maryam Aurangzeb said through a tweet that the APC convened on Thursday February 9 is being postponed due to the Prime Minister’s visit to Turkey.

He had said that a new date would be announced in consultation with the allied parties, but the allies remained busy in the consultation and the terrorists again demonstrated their strength in Karachi.

The government has not made any coherent policy against the terrorists and meanwhile the banned TTP once again targeted the police and attacked the head office in Karachi.

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif blamed Tehreek-e-Insaf for not holding an all-party conference against terrorism and said that national consensus could not be created due to this.

PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry had claimed that the government had not sent a formal invitation to APC. If you get an invitation, you will be consulted on attending this conference.

The poor strategy of the government is still failing to create a coherent policy against terrorism while the terrorists are actively targeting the security forces and the public.
