Ahsan Iqbal alleges ‘corruption via MKRF’s telethon after 2010 floods’

Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has once again levelled baseless allegations against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan without any research and questioned the transparency of his telethon for flood victims.

Former premier and PTI Chairman Imran Khan is going to organise a telethon at the international level today to collect funds for the flood victims.

Ahsan Iqbal, while sharing a message on Twitter, said that “the end of his [Imran Khan’s] telethon will be the same as the telethon in the name of Pukar in 2010. Money was taken in the name of the flood, but no one knows where did that money go? This person just needs a chance to collect donations. He is the champion of fundraising but it goes to his politics and caste.”

In another tweet, Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal writes that “On the occasion of the 2010 flood, Imran Niazi used the shoulder those who he now called bad ones and collected billions of rupees in the name of the flood victims and promised to build millions of houses, distribute the fertilizer and seeds among the farmers, however, no one has neither seen any house nor any poor person has received the fertilizer and seeds.”

Social welfare circles said that Ahsan Iqbal should have first investigated whether Imran Khan did that telethon for himself or for the Mir Khalilur Rehman Foundation.

The 2010 telethon had been organised by the Mir Khalil-ur-Rehman Foundation (MKRF) and the money went to the account of the entire Jang Group. If the money was gone due to corruption, it means that the money was stolen by by MKRF. How can Imran Khan steal that money which went into the bank account of the Jang Group?

Social welfare circles suggested Ahsan Iqbal that if you believe that more than one billion rupees collected in the name of Pukar fundraising was subjected to corruption, then the federal minister should file a case against Imran Khan and Mir Khalilur Rehman Foundation (MKRF).
