Ali Sadpara: Recognize Unsung Heroes, Before They Disappear

Pakistanis came together in support of another one of its unsung heroes, Ali Sadpara, who has missing for several days now during the expedition to K-2.

The Editor-in-Chief of Something Haute, Aamna Haider Isani, took to her Twitter and suggested the government recognize the effort made by Ali Sadpara along with his team members by dedicating a biopic to their names. She added that it would also help promote the soft image of the country.

Moreover, the Rani of Ehd-e-Wafa, Zara Noor Abbas, commented on the Twitter trend #AliSadpara and questioned why are the people in Pakistan always late in recognizing one’s achievement.

She made an appeal to the followers to ensure that many other unsung heroes like Ali Sadpara don’t go unoticed and their families not ignored.

Instead, their achievements should be appreciated before they disappear, she emphasized.

In addition to it, the City FM-89 RJ, Anoushay Ashraf, also wrote a long post on Instagram adding why do one gets fame after death?

It takes a lot of effort for one to leave behind everything and risk life for doing something special for the country, she commented.

Thereby, it is important to recognize the efforts of many such unsung heroes like Ali Sadpara and reward them before they disappear.

Who was Ali Sadpara?

In the remote village of Sadpara in the mountainous Gilgit-Baltistan, Ali was born in 1976. Of 11 siblings, only Ali Sadpara and his sister had survived.

Ali was also a member of expeditions including the first winter and autumn ascents of Nanga Parbat and the first winter ascent of the Pumori Peak in Nepal.

In 2018, Txicon and Sadpara teamed up for a winter climb to Mount Everest without any supplemental oxygen. Unfortunately, they could not succeed.
