The Supreme Court (SC) upheld decision of demolishing Nasla Tower while dismissing the review petition on Wednesday.

The demolishment of the 15-storey building will be carried out after a month and the court has ordered to evacuate it within the given time frame.

Earlier in June, the apex court ordered the Sindh government to raze down the multi-storey Nasla Tower as it is built on encroached land.

The builder and the occupants filed a review petition and the bench heard the case at length.

The petitioners maintained that the building is not constructed on the encroached land and asked the bench to release an order for inspection.

However, the apex court maintained that the documents are available with the bench and there was no need for an inspection.

On the other hand, the victims of Bahria Town also joined the protest staged by Nasla Tower residents in front of SC.

The protesters were vocal against the housing society and maintained that they have been waiting for the possession for the past 8 years.

“The housing society promised to provide possession within 4 years”, the protesters said.

The residents of Nasla Tower and the victims of Bahria Town were of the view that whatever the case is, in the end, the allottees are at the suffering end.
