Sindh Journalists Council called for chief minister and police IG to take action against the perpetrators

Another journalist on the payroll of Royal News Television (TV) channel was shot dead in Sukkur on Thursday.

According to the police officials, unidentified armed suspects fired gunshots at Ajay Laalwani when he was awaiting his turn at a barbershop while the offenders managed to flee.

The victim sustained serious wounds and was rushed to Sukkur Civil Hospital. However, he succumbed to wounds and died.

Sindh Journalists Council (SJC) called for the chief minister and police Inspector General (IG) to take action against the perpetrators.

In another incident on the day when by-poll was held in Daska NA-75 constituency, Samaa TV reporter Sahil Jogi was tortured by Sindh police.

Adeel Ahsan, another journalist associated with Samma, shared a video regarding which he said that Sukkur police conducted a raid on Sahil Jogi’s house and assaulted him after confirming his identity.

In February last year, senior journalist Aziz Memon, who worked for Sindhi TV channel KTN News and Sindhi daily Kawish, was strangled to death and found in an irrigation ditch in Naushahro Feroze district.
