Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has completed consultations with his elder brother Mian Nawaz Sharif regarding the appointment of the new Army Chief, and he will return home any time today.
However, Asif Ali Zardari, the main character of the regime change, has still kept all his cards hidden so far regarding the appointment of the new army chief.
According to media reports, PM Shehbaz Sharif held four meetings with the former Prime Minister and PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif during his visit to London.
In these meetings, the ongoing political conflict in the country, the economic situation and especially the issues related to the name of the new army were discussed.
According to media reports, PM Sharif’s meeting with Mian Nawaz Sharif yesterday lasted for 3.5 hours.
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Maryam Nawaz, Abid Sher, Rana Mubasher, Ehsanul Haq Bajwa, Meher Liaquat and other leaders were also present in the meeting.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the appointment of the Army Chief is a constitutional matter and will be resolved according to the constitution.
It should be noted that 5 names are yet to come regarding the appointment of the new Army Chief. These names will come through the Ministry of Defense which has not yet come.
Analysts say that the meetings regarding the appointment of the new army are going on, PTI chief Imran Khan is to be criticizing these meetings by saying that the decisions for the key appointment is being taken by a convict in London which is tantamount to insulting the nation.
