A video from a YouTuber drew criticism in which the host was lying inside the late Arshad Sharif’s grave before his burial. The YouTube channel, RP Production, used the title that the reporter showed the real face of rulers by laying down inside Sharif’s grave
The YouTube channel used a colourful theme with an emotional headline just to get clicks from the viewers, without analysing the sensitivity of the issue and sentiments of the slain journalist’s family and friends.
Many YouTubers like to be clickbait without sensing the outcomes of their videos and making videos on sensitive issues just to earn more and more.
Netizens expressed outrage over the YouTube video and severely criticised the individual who appeared in the video.
Sharif was killed in Kenya’s capital Nairobi on Sunday night. Arshad Sharif is one of the renowned investigative journalists of Pakistan who covered major political events in the country for national and international media outlets.
The federal government announced holding a judicial inquiry into the journalist’s killing case and formed a two-member committee that left for Kenya to collect evidence.
The slain journalist was laid to rest on October 27 in Islamabad.
In July 2016, a media report aired on Express News sparked uproar on social media after the reporter gave a beeper after stepping inside the grave of famous philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi.
His action was not only criticised by the general public but journalists from other media outfits also slammed the reporter, cameraman and director news of the private news channel.
Following public complaints, the news channel’s director news apologised for the disgraceful report and the clip was pulled off the air.
