After the video of Cannoli cafe in Islamabad went viral in which the owners were seen making fun of their employee, many attention seekers came forward.
The manager received a lot of sympathy from the public after the video was shared on social media repeatedly.
News360 approached the manager named and spoke with him so he could elucidate the details of what had actually happened inside.
Following the incident, Shahbaz Taseer, CEO of Pace Pakistan Limited, shared a post on Twitter and offered a job to the manager of Cannoli restaurant who was mocked by the owner of the restaurant.
Help me find Awais’s number. My HR has an opening for a manager and we would absolutely love to hire him @pacepakistanltd
Twitter can be toxic. If one doesn’t respond to disgusting lies those lies become a false truth. So let’s do something nice for a change ❤️ Pakistan Zindabad— Shahbaz Taseer (@ShahbazTaseer) January 21, 2021
While many appreciated Shahbaz Taseer’s initiative, a large number of people also came forward with claims how they did not get paid for months working in the companies owned by Shahbaz Taseer.
Look at Shahbaz Taseer acting like a hero while he owes his own employees at Daily Times their salary. No thanks, Shahbaz as an employer will be a different kind of torture for Owais, please leave him alone pic.twitter.com/53kszwWOfv

Irfan Haider, formerly associated with the TV channel Business Plus that was owned by Shahbaz Taseer, told News360 that his salary of Rs 6-7 months has not been paid yet.
The former anchorperson further said that the employees who resigned out of frustration with the management’s behavior were not paid their dues by the management.
News360 also spoke with Mohammad Ali, an associate producer with the Zaiqa TV channel which is also owned by the Taseer group. He claimed that he had worked for the company for 3 years and faced many delays in receiving his salary.
He left the job but the company has still not cleared his pending dues of 6 to 8 months.
On the other hand, social media activist and blogger Mahwash Ajaz shared a video in which various people spoke in regional languages of Pakistan.
They are giving the message that it is not right to make fun of someone for not being able to speak English.
My friend Mona Husain made a video (I’m in this too) to send a message to Cannoli wali awaam. #PakistanForAll pic.twitter.com/YCk7D2XvAX

But, at the end of the same video, when a woman started criticizing the hotel owner in Sindhi, she crossed the line.
It is good to speak out against any wrongdoing in society, but it is not right to do so pretending to speak up for others while gaining publicity.
