Azad Kashmir Portrays Visuals of Occupied Part During Elections

The scenes in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) resembled its Indian occupied part as the convoy led by Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Ali Amin Gandapur was attacked by miscreants.

The minister’s convoy was en route to attend a public gathering with other leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) when unidentified suspects pelted stones at it. The suspects also threw eggs at the minister’s motorcade.

The guards of Ali Amin Gandapur carried out aerial firing to disperse the protesters and rode away. Later, the angry protesters blocked the Srinagar Highway.

PTI leaders accused Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of scripting the attack however the allegations were rejected.

The rows during electioneering for AJK elections are resembling visuals that are usually seen in the occupied part of the valley.

This week, a shoe was hurled at Gandapur during an election rally in Bagh while the convoy of Federal Minister Murad Saeed was also attacked by unidentified suspects in the constituency of  PML-N leader Raja Farooq Haider.

PTI, PML-N, and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) are three major contenders in the AJK elections.
