Backyard Fish Hatchery Inaugurated to Encourage Business
The government has planned to expand business with the help of hatchery and to provide a better environment for research students
Sindh Livestock and Fisheries Minister Abdul Bari Pitafi inaugurated biofloc unit and backyard fish hatchery at Mando Dero in Sukkur district of Sindh.
Bifloc is a method to improve water quality while backyard fish hatchery is the sustainable production of fish for commercial purposes.
The government has planned to expand the aquaculture business with the help of fish hatchery and to provide a better environment for research students.

By adopting artificial methods, the seeds of rare breeds will be kept in small ponds in Sukkur, Ghotki, Badin, and Sanghar hatcheries to produce male fish.
Fisheries Minister Abdul Bari Pitafi visited the hatchery and examined the production system.
He said that the livestock and fisheries are a priority of Sindh government and it can help to boost the revenue.
Abdul Bari Pitafi also expressed that the orthodox system of fish farming has been replaced by modern production technology to expand the industry.
He said that the research process in hatcheries in Sukkur, Ghotki, and other districts would be expedited to reap more benefits.
While briefing the minister on the occasion, Director General (DG) Fish Hatchery Mirullah Dad Talpur maintained that the unit will work on modern lines for breeding of rare species.
