Bad weather condition or low participation: PML-N postpones Okara power show
PML-N postponed power show in Okara owing to bad weather , however, some reports suggested that it was cancelled due to low participation.
OKARA: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) postponed its power show in Okara yesterday owing to bad weather after heavy rainfall in the city and other parts of Punjab, however, some reports suggested that it was cancelled due to low participation.
PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz and Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz had been scheduled to address the Okara power show, however, Marriyum Aurangzeb later announce the postponement of the public gathering.
Rana Sanaullah had earlier claimed that PML-N is going to organise an Okara power show that will break the previous records of any public gathering to show public support for the political party.
According to the media reports, an 80-ft-wide and 30-ft-long stage, thousands of chairs, lights and a sound system were installed for PML-N’s Okara public gathering. However, heavy rain started pouring amid the preparations for the power show and filled the ground with water, ARY News reported.
It was also reported that several trees were cut down to shape the venue for a huge power show of PML-N in Okara.
On the other hand, a viral video showed that the water was drained immediately after the heavy rainfall from the ground – the venue of the PML-N power show – but it was cancelled due to the low participation.
A user wrote on Twitter, “Is anyone surprised to see the Noonies flooding the ground so that they can claim bad weather ruined the jalsa?”
