Unsolved mystery as murderers still unidentified in BB assassination case
No progress was made on the investigation during 3.5 years of PTI-led government.

The 14th death anniversary of former prime minister and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Benazir Bhutto is being observed in the country who had been murdered in Rawalpindi on December 27, 2007, in a suicide attack during an election rally during the military ruler Pervez Musharraf.
Benazir Bhutto had escaped the first suicide attack on her rally when she was returning to her residence from Karachi airport after ending the self-exile. Her convoy was attacked by suicide bombers in which more than 100 people lost their lives and scores sustained injuries.
However, her murderers have not been identified as yet after 14 years including the 5-year tenure of PPP in the Centre from 2008 to 2013 and then Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) led government from 2013 to 2018.
No progress was made on the investigation into the BB assassination case during the 3.5 years of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led (PTI) government.
BB death anniversary: Preparations completed for public gathering at Garhi Khuda Bux
It has been claimed that one of the murderers, Baitullah Mehsud, had been killed who plotted the assassination of BB, however, convictions of the killers and plotters were not made so far. The probe of Scotland Yard, UN’s commission and probe agencies of Pakistan remained futile.
Surprisingly, the political party showed disinterest in pursuing the assassination case.
Analysts said that PPP’s downfall was a result of showing disinterest in its role for not pursuing convictions and sentences of the culprits in the BB assassination case.
They added that Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari used the martyrdom of BB as a trump card. The PPP central leaders will gather in Garhi Khuda Bux in a public meeting on BB death anniversary today but it would be nothing more than a series of claims for their affection with the slain leader.
