Bench hearing case on Punjab, KPK elections stand dissolved

Justice Aminuddin recused himself from bench after which larger bench of Supreme Court has broken up

Here we are informing you of the important news that the Supreme Court bench hearing the petitions filed against the delay of general elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been dissolved.

When the hearing of the case related to the elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa began, Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Atta Bandial said that a respected judge in our bench Aminuddin wants to say something.

On which Justice Aminuddin said that yesterday the head of the three-member bench of the Supreme Court, Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, had issued an order that no more cases of Article 184 (3) of the Constitution should be heard. I was a part of this bench, so I consider it appropriate that I no longer be a part of this bench.

Justice Aminuddin resigned from the bench to hear the cases further.

The bench has broken up after Justice Aminuddin’s cases have been separated, and all the judges have retired to their respective chambers.

A new bench will now be formed regarding elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Further hearing of the case was adjourned today.
