The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) reported that more than 30 districts of Sindh have been affected by floods while 400,000 people affected by the floods have become homeless.
Speaking to the media and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) workers on the occasion of his visit to Sindh, Speaker Sindh Assembly and Acting Governor Agha Siraj Durrani said that we will not leave our people alone in this difficult time, because of the extraordinary rains in the province. Due to this, there are difficulties in relief work.
Agha Siraj Durrani said that destruction due to rains is a punishment by Allah for our mistakes, whatever is happening is happening on behalf of Allah. Durrani said that if you people will improve, everything will improve.

According to the latest report of NDMA, more than 30 districts of Sindh are affected by floods, such a situation was not seen in the 2010 floods. The report stated that 216 lives have been lost in various incidents of floods in Sindh.
A senior government official told News360 on condition of anonymity that around 400,000 people have been displaced due to the recent rains and floods within Sindh.
He has further informed that only 23,000 people have been helped while only 1000 pots of rice have been distributed in the form of aid in the whole of Sindh. People said that they survived the flood but now they are dying of hunger.
Sources have told News360 that the budget of the Sindh government includes a social security program worth Rs8 billion, which has not been used yet.
Analysts say that the biggest sin of the people of Sindh is that they voted for the people of the People’s Party While Agha Siraj Durrani is saying that this is a punishment for the sins of the people, he is rightly saying that the people have committed a sin and they have voted the PPP.
Analysts added that if this is a punishment, then why is this punishment not happening to the rulers, why only the poor people are left for this kind of punishment, and why are MPs and MNAs not being punished as per Agha Siraj Durrani’s statement. He saved himself by calling the flood a sin of the people.
The works for which the people of the PPP had voted could not be done to date. Agha Siraj Durrani is calling his wrong strategy by not mentioning the government’s negligence and mistakes.
Analysts further said that Sindh CM Syed Murad Ali Shah and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari are busy in photoshoots but practically nothing is visible. No strategy is being formulated on how to deal with natural calamities, selfies are taken with children to rub salt in citizens’ wounds.
