Different contradictory statements between the government and the opposition over the past couple of days are not only beyond the comprehension of workers of their respective parties but have also confused the public who are unable to understand the situation at hand.
Bitterness has intensified between the government and opposition parties and conflicting statements between political leaders are on the rise leaving the workers and the public in a dilemma.
Pakistan’s political temperature is rising and the public is now wondering when the government who had earlier promised 10 million jobs, five million houses, and 10 billion trees will fulfill its commitments?
Opposition parties have been fighting hard to exert pressure on the government to fulfill their promises.
On this occasion, Information and Broadcasting Minister Shibli Faraz, Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan and Punjab Prisons Minister Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chauhan have stressed the need for dialogue and reconciliation.
A few days ago, Pakistan Muslim League- Functional (PML-F) leader Muhammad Ali Durrani visited Kot Lakhpat jail and met Shahbaz Sharif, after which rumors began circulating that Muhammad Ali Durrani had gone to find a middle ground between the government and the opposition.
But, Prime Minister Imran Khan clarified that the forum for dialogue was Parliament and Muhammad Ali Durrani did not go on at the behest of the government.
On Sunday, Science and Technology Minister Fawad Chaudhry also reaffirmed that Muhammad Ali Durrani was not a government representative.

It is unclear why Muhammad Ali Durrani spoke of reconciliation between the government and the opposition and at whose request.
In the same meeting, Shahbaz Sharif had also welcomed the reconciliatory effort.
However, Maryam Nawaz later explained on Sunday that the party policy was clear and Shahbaz Sharif was ill-informed.
Addressing a public meeting at Garhi Khuda Buksh Larkana on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto on Sunday, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that if Imran Khan did not resign by January 31, there would be a long march towards Islamabad.
Leaders of other parties also attended the rally but Maulana Fazlur Rehman apologized for not participating.
After Bilawal Bhutto’s speech, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz lampooned Imran Khan while addressing the gathering. Referring to Imran Khan, she said that a failed premier was seeking NRO from the PDM.
Maryam Nawaz referred to Imran Khan calling him “Tabedar Khan (Obedient Khan)” and said that he had lost this war. On the other hand, instead of calming down the opposition, the government itself has resorted to bitterness.
In a message released on Twitter on Sunday, Federal Minister for Information Senator Shibli Faraz said that the souls of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Bibi Benazir Bhutto must be suffering today because their philosophy and ideology were being opposed by their own party members.

After which, as expected, the opposition also responded with a bang. PML-N spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb said that today the soul of Ahmed Faraz must be upset that his own son was speaking against his philosophy and ideology.
Meanwhile, Firdous Ashiq Awan, Special Assistant to the Punjab Chief Minister for Information, addressing Maryam Nawaz, said that the princess is opening a new book of lies every day. The politics of his fugitive father is drowning every day. The princess should ask her father what is his role in corruption, poverty, unemployment, and inflation in the country today.
Efforts are being made by both the government and the opposition to push each other back and forth. Earlier, it was limited to politics but now it has reached to personalities. Both rivals need to find a middle ground to understand the sensitivity of the occasion.
