The trend surfaced on social media after the statement by Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood that no one will be passed without examinations this year
Amid the spike in coronavirus cases in Pakistan, the students have taken to Twitter to urge authorities to cancel exams and this has been trending top on the microblogging website for the past many hours.
#cancelexamspakistan2021 is demanded by students who are of the view that appearing in exams, after completing the syllabus ‘online’, was burdensome.
The trend surfaced on social media after the statement of Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood.
“No one will be passed without examinations this year”, the minister announced.
After the meeting of education and health ministers at the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), the lawmaker announced that the schools located in coronavirus hotspot areas will remain closed until April 11.

Mehmood said the government will hold a meeting with the Cambridge board to see whether examinations can be postponed or not.
The students claim that due to distance learning, they have been unable to finish the syllabus and it was unjust to force them to give exams.
Wow. So the ministers themselves will be participating virtually and they expect us to be on campuses and give exams. Isn’t this a double standard Mr. @Shafqat_Mahmood ?#cancelexamspakistan2021 #cancelcieexams2021 #cancelcies21 pic.twitter.com/cKK7ytS17h

We students are well aware of how important education is. When we demand exams to be cancelled we surely are because it is not feasible this year for students to appear in exams due to all the struggles this year.#cancelexamspakistan2021 #cancelcieexams2021 @Shafqat_Mahmood
