Aftab Sultan, head of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), resigned from his post, denying arrests due to government pressure.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has accepted the resignation of Chairman NAB Aftab Sultan. Chairman NAB Aftab Sultan said in a meeting with the Prime Minister that he cannot work in this environment.
According to The News Editor Investigation Ansar Abbasi, Aftab Sultan refused to work on anyone’s wish, he did not want to play the role of former Chairman NAB Javed Iqbal.

According to the sources, Aftab Sultan was under pressure to make some arrests but he refused the arrests. Aftab Sultan belongs to the Police Service of Pakistan and is a grade 22 officer, Aftab Sultan has also held other important posts including DGIB.
Aftab Sultan took over as the head of NAB on July 2022 after the retirement of former Chairman NAB Javed Iqbal. Speaking to Geo News, former Chairman NAB Aftab Sultan said that I had resigned a few days ago, I was told about some things. What was said was not acceptable to me.
