Charsadda imam faces backlash after repeatedly calling Imran Khan ‘a Qadiani’

An imam in Charsadda mosque has faced backlash from namazis (worshippers) for allegedly calling PTI Chairman Imran Khan 'a Qadiani'.

An imam in Charsadda mosque has faced backlash from namazis (worshippers) for allegedly calling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan ‘a Qadiani’ multiple times during his sermon.

A video surfaced on social media in which an imam of a mosque in Charsadda was delivering a sermon in the Pashto language. After repeatedly calling Imran Khan ‘a Qadiani’, the imam faced backlash from one of the worshippers.

The caption of the video read that the mosque was located in the NA-22 constituency of Mardan where by-elections will be held in the coming days.

The worshipper intervened in the sermon and slammed the imam for repeating the same words to label Imran Khan an Ahmadi. He said that Imran Khan was not a Qadiani as he always talked about Islam and believed in Khatam-e-Nabuwat (finality of Prophethood) after Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

He then questioned the imam to elaborate on whether he had any political agenda to accomplish during his sermons in the mosque.

The unidentified worshipper further slammed the imam of the mosque by saying that if Khan is a Qadiani then he should also call Nawaz Sharif an Ahmadi as he was living in the base of Qadianis.

The worshipper questioned the imam to tell others about who was giving protection to Mr Sharif in London where Qadianis are stronger as compared to Pakistan.

He said that Nawaz Sharif was living in the centre of Ahmadis in London but Imran Khan is still residing in Pakistan.
