Coronavirus Vaccine to Land in Pakistan Today
Some 14 vaccination centers have been established in Sindh which was first province in Pakistan that had ordered the coronavirus jabs
The eagerly-awaited coronavirus vaccine will arrive in Pakistan today.
The Sinopharm vaccine will arrive in Pakistan via Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). The national carrier flight will land at Islamabad International Airport (IIA).
Meanwhile, after the arrival of the shots, the vaccination centers in Sindh will become operational.
Sindh was the first province in Pakistan that had ordered the coronavirus jabs.
Some 14 vaccination centers have been established in Sindh. Nine of them have been set up in Karachi while the rest have been set up in different divisions.
A vaccination center has also been set up at Karachi’s Jinnah Hospital.
In the first phase, the Sindh government will give preference to the medical workers followed by the elderly people in the second.
The third phase of the vaccination will cover the young people.
The potential candidates will be screened first at the vaccination centers after which the jabs will be administered.

Karachi South District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Raj Kumar confirmed that all preparations in the vaccination centers at Jinnah Hospital have been completed.
He added that the government will take assistance from National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA).
