On May 7, a single-member bench of LHC had granted permission to Shahbaz Sharif to fly abroad after he got released from Kot Lakhpat jail on bail.
The court allowed Shehbaz Sharif a one-time visit to the United Kingdom (UK) from May 8 to July 5 on medical grounds.

However, the flying attempt by the opposition leader was nipped in the bud as he was stopped at Lahore Airport by immigration officials.
In response to this, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president moved to LHC against the measure yesterday.
His counsel filed a contempt of court plea against seizure of his right to go overseas for medical treatment despite the high court’s orders.
To strike a blow, the government, on the same day, moved to the apex court against LHC’s orders which it considered was taken in haste as Shahbaz was facing trials in various corruption cases.
The petition maintained that the opposition leader could not be entitled to privileged treatment as it violated ‘all cannons of justice and norms of equity and fairness’.
In near future, it appears that the courts are all set to settle political and medical matters.
