Federal government has increased gas prices by 112% after electricity by agreeing to IMF's Terms even before getting funds

Federal government dropped a gas bomb after electricity on the people hit by inflation, a 112% increase in gas rate, gas is expensive for the export industry as well, so it was decided to collect 310 billion rupees from the people from January to June.

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) dropped a gas bomb on the people. Natural gas prices for domestic, commercial, and exporters have increased by more than 112 percent.

According to the document, the price of gas per mmbtu has been increased from Rs 1283 to Rs 1650 for commercial customers, and the price of gas per mmbtu has been increased from Rs 780 to Rs 1600 for customers buying in bulk.

K Electric, SNPC’s power plants will get gas at Rs 1050 per mmbtu.

According to an official document, K Electric, SNPC’s power plant was earlier getting gas at Rs 857 per mmbtu.

According to ECC, gas prices for fertilizer factories have been increased by Rs 1225 per mmbtu.

According to the Economic Coordination Committee document, the cement industry will get gas at Rs 1,500 per mmbtu instead of Rs 1,277.

According to the Ministry of Energy document, the price of gas per mmbtu for the export industry will be Rs 1100, CNG per mmbtu will be Rs 1805.

With this decision of the federal government, an additional burden of 310 billion rupees will be imposed on the gas consumers. The price of gas for domestic consumers has been increased by more than 112 percent.

In the CNG sector, the price has been approved to be increased from Rs.1371 to Rs.1805 per mmbtu.

According to the document, gas prices have been increased by 50% for the fertilizer sector.

For the non-export sector, the price has been increased from Rs 1054 to Rs 1200 per mmbtu, while for the export sector the price will be increased from Rs 852 to Rs 1100 per mmbtu.

The new gas prices will be applicable from January 1, 2023. 10 slabs of gas prices have been approved for domestic consumers.

According to the decision of the ECC, a fixed charge of Rs 500 has been imposed on non-protected domestic consumers. Fixed charges of Rs.50 have been imposed for protected category customers. There has been no hike in gas prices for Roti Tanwar customers. Gas rates were also not increased for protected small gas consumers.
