Zakir Khan, a local journalist of Tehsil Bara, in a special conversation with News 360 correspondent, said that ‘I myself was present in the rescue operation that day from noon to late night for coverage. Prayers were on the lips, but due to the lack of modern equipment with the rescue team, the child could not be pulled out of the well.
He added that on that day, the child could see the well clearly with the help of the camera, but due to the lack of width of the well, no one could go down as the bore of the well is 12 inches round.
He said that the rescue team tried to rescue the child with the help of a latch-like hook, but his shirt got caught in the latch, which burst while being lifted, after which there was no other option, forcing the rescue operation to stop.
He further said that Yahya’s mother comes to the grave and says that my child is alive and should be taken out, but the provincial government, district administration and government officials did not take any steps, due to which the 285 feet deep well has become the child’s grave.
