PTI Chairman Imran Khan has once again invited the government for talks and said that they should sit and decide the date of the new elections.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has once again invited the government for talks and said that they should sit and decide the date of the new elections.

While welcoming the PTI chief’s statement, Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that democracy is strengthened by supporting each other in politics, however, Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb tagged Imran Khan’s picture and wrote a caption, “October 2023”.

Immediately after PTI chief Imran Khan’s announcement to dissolve the assemblies, an emergency meeting of PML-N’s senior leaders was held under the chair of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in which possible measures to prevent the dissolution of the Punjab Assembly were considered.

An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of PML-N President and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at his residence Model Town Lahore, in which federal ministers, senior league leaders, special assistants to the prime minister and members of the Punjab Assembly, including Hamza Shehbaz, Rana Sanaullah, Azam Nazeer Tarar, Khawaja Khawaja Saad Rafique, Ahad Cheema, Attaullah Tarar, Malik Ahmad Khan, Owais Leghari, Khawaja Salman Rafiq and others were included.

In the meeting, consultations were held on the issue of preventing the possible dissolution of the Punjab Assembly. Shehbaz Sharif informed the participants about the recommendations of the virtual meeting chaired by party leader Nawaz Sharif last night.

In an important emergency meeting, the Prime Minister was briefed about the number game in the Punjab Assembly, while the details regarding the implementation of the governor’s rule were also informed.

On this occasion, Shahbaz Sharif was informed about his contacts with disgruntled PTI members. Apart from this, the Prime Minister was also briefed regarding the suspended members of the Punjab Assembly.
In the meeting, consultations were held on all possible legal and constitutional options including motion of no confidence, vote of confidence and implementation of the governor’s rule.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had reached Lahore by a special plane from Islamabad this morning. According to sources, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is likely to stay in Lahore for 2 to 3 days.

Talking to a private TV channel on Imran Khan’s offer, Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that for the strength of democracy, we have to work together in politics, and problems in a democracy are solved through consultation.

In response to a question, he said that there is no backdoor communication with Pervez Elahi, but politics cannot be carried forward without discussion and negotiation.

On the other hand, Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Maryam Aurangzeb tagged the breaking of the ARY news channel on the demand of Imran Khan’s election date and wrote in short words on her Twitter account that “Elections 2023.”

Basically, PML-N had not taken a decision even yesterday on whether to move a no-confidence motion in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or to impose governor rule, but whatever it has to do, it has to be done as soon as possible, because time is short and the competition is tough.
