Mobile Sales Nosedive in Peshawar After Internet Suspension

Without an official statement, the suspension of cellular phone and internet services in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) for four consecutive days caused a downswing in the mobile phone business.

The internet suspension took place in Peshawar in connection with the protests staged by Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) after the arrest of its chief in Lahore.

All four cellular companies in the province faced a loss of billions due to the recent outage.

The breakdown of mobile phone and internet services was causing inconvenience for the locals including students, journalists etc.

Due to this, several people lost contact with their family members, and on the other hand, students were unable to join their online classes.

News360 contacted citizens of Peshawar over the telephone who were of the view that the whole city was suffering due to the demonstrations by the religious party.

One of the citizens blamed under-par strategies of the government for the inconvenience.

Whereas, another local complained that the services were shut without any prior notification that increased the hardships.

“Suspension of internet and mobile phone services was not a fair decision to counter the protesters”.

While expressing views, a student claimed online classes were being severely affected due to the outage of internet services.
