KARACHI: The situation of law and order has worsened in Sindh capital Karachi as the notorious bandits from Punjab’s katcha areas have been arrested in a recent police action following the dozens of robberies in DHA Karachi.
The revelations were made by SSP Investigation South Muhammad Imran Khan who told the media that the arrested bandits were involved in dozens of burglaries in bungalows of Karachi’s posh area of Defence Housing Authority (DHA).
The police officer confirmed that the officials recovered cash worth millions of rupees and stolen valuables including jewellery, expensive watches and other items from the accused.
The alleged bandits were identified as Sakhawat Gopang, Abid Indhar, Shehbaz Khan, Kamran and Imran. It was learnt that the accused were involved in robberies in DHA bungalows for the last three years and they belong to the Katcha area of Rahim Yar Khan district of Punjab.
Regarding their style of robberies, Khan said that they used to work as cooks, drivers and gardeners to collect information about the bungalows in the neighbourhood. After committing the crime, they used to return to their jobs,” added the officer.
