Drugs After Liquor: Parliament Lodges Become Den of Inequity
PML-N senator has claimed that the menace of drugs has made way into the Parliament lodges after liquor bottles
After liquor bottles and being labeled as a den of iniquity, a new scandal has come to the fore as a PML-N senator has claimed that drugs have made way into the Parliament lodges.
Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Pir Sabir Shah made this revelation during the question-answer session in the Senate on Thursday. He asserted that drugs were being openly sold in every nook and cranny of the country, afflicting the youth.

While talking to News360, Senator Pir Sabir Shah said that drug consumption across the country was on the rise and it was ruining the young generation.

He added that the menace has penetrated the parliament lodges too.
He disclosed that some vile elements have also started selling drugs there which was concerning.
The senator demanded the government to probe into the matter and trace the culprits involved in the illegal practice.
PML-N leader emphasized deliberation on the reasons that had caused the menace to sneak into the parliament and homes.
Shah lamented that drugs have reached the forum where voices are raised against it.
When asked who consumes narcotics at the lodges, PML-N lawmaker told he was preparing a list of people who are involved in the illicit activity, besides confessing that it would be an uphill task.
Counterparts want investigation
Senator Kamran Murtaza from Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam – Fazl (JUI-F) also aired his concerns on the assertions of his counterpart.
Speaking to News360, the senator said that Shah’s claims could either be true or false.
However, he said, “You know you can get different items in liquid form. When they are available in that state, it’s no surprise that things in solid form can be available too”.
Moreover, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Taj Haider called for an inquiry into the matter, adding that the perpetrators should be held accountable.
Hotbed of immoral activities
Earlier, JUI-F leader and ex-Senator Hafiz Hamidullah had raised the issue of liquor bottles found outside numerous apartments outside the apartments in the lodges.
Ex-MNA Jamshed Dasti had also claimed that the lodges had become a hotbed of immoral activities.
He had claimed that a sack got filled to the mouth in no time when he started collecting liquor bottles from the lodges.
