ECP’s decision to meet Governor regarding general elections in Punjab

Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja chaired a meeting regarding the general elections in Punjab, in which it has been decided that a meeting will be held with Governor of Punjab for consultation on the matters related to the election.
The important meeting of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) regarding the conduct of general elections in Punjab was held under the chairmanship of Sikandar Sultan Raja, in which all members, secretary, and legal team participated.
According to Election Commission officials, in the meeting chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, the future course of action and implementation has been considered keeping in mind the court’s decision.

It was decided to meet the governor of Punjab in the meeting of the election commission under the chairmanship of the chief election commissioner. The election commission asked the governor for the date of general elections in Punjab.
In the ongoing announcement of the Election Commission, it was said that the governor of Punjab was consulted for the date of polling, and the implementation was considered keeping in mind the decision of the Lahore High Court on February 10.
The delegation of the Election Commission will meet Governor Punjab Balighur Rehman after which a briefing will be given to the Chief Election Commissioner. The Chief Election Commissioner will consider the future course of action after the briefing.
The meeting chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja was held on February 10 in the light of the decision given by the Lahore High Court in which the date of elections in the province was ordered.
