Ehsaas Program Center Robbed in Absence of Security

It has been revealed that at the time of the incident, no security official was on guard and the robbers were aware of the lapse

For the past few weeks, the residents of the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area in Karachi are witnessing back-to-back robberies and theft incidents as yesterday, 6 burglars entered Ehsaas Program Center and looted more than Rs 1 million.

As per details, the burglars entered the Ehsaas Program office in the early hours of Friday and not only depredated the cash but also looted the mobile phones of the staff in front of the beneficiaries.

It has been revealed that at the time of the incident, no security official was on guard and the robbers were aware of the lapse.

In the daring robbery bid, the robbers entered the building and snatched the cash at gunpoint while the staff was held hostage.

The Ehsaas Program Center, set up inside a park in the vicinity of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, keeps cash for the financial support of the underprivileged.

The witnesses informed News360 that the looters came inside the office without hassle as the guards were not present.

The armed suspects arrived on three motorcycles and were aware of the available cash so they acted accordingly.

Another witness informed that the burglars thwacked one of the employees who was having the funds.

The beneficiaries and the staff demanded compensation from the government.

Notably, the theft incidents in the area have mushroomed and the police seem at a loss.

While talking about the ragging issue, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) East maintained that the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) footage is in hands and the police are probing into the matter.

Earlier, in the same area, three armed robbers barged into a house and stole 80 tola jewelry, 8,500 US dollars, and Rs 90,000 from there. They also stole two laptops and drove away in the car that was parked in the parking.
