Eidul Fitr 2022: Cell phone free parties becoming trend in Pakistan
In a new solution, cell phone free parties are now becoming a trend in Pakistan as well in which all participants of the event voluntarily allow the host to confiscate their mobile phones.
As mobile phones become a crucial part of everyone’s life, it is also becoming a distraction tool for real social events that force people to divert toward a new trend of cell phone free parties, especially during the Eidul Fitr 2022 gatherings.
In the social gatherings for Eidul Fitr, many people expressed resentment over their friends for ruining the limited time parties in their busy schedules as they keep spending time using cell phones instead of paying attention to the persons sitting next to them.
In a new solution, cell phone free parties are now becoming a trend in Pakistan too in which all participants of the event voluntarily allow the host to confiscate their mobile phones after turning them off till the end of the gathering.
A public survey conducted by News360 showed that several volunteers from families and friends termed mobile phones as one of the major reasons for ruined parties of Eidul Fitr festivities. They complained about getting no attention from many family members and friends during the Eid parties due to mobile phones.
Some people shared their worst experiences nowadays after gathering friends after a long time but mobile phones have completely faded the colours of their events. Consistent telephone calls, and back-to-back notifications of social media apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat and others distract them from the real purpose of the social gatherings.
In a reunion event of former school friends from Army Public School – Murree, who have met after a period of 20 years at Islamabad’s Gun and Country Club, all participants voluntarily turned off their mobile phones and piled up the bunch of cell phones on a table till the end of the event.
After a while, friends get together and during this time there are calls on mobile phones or notifications of WhatsApp or Instagram and Snap chat.
A participant of the reunion event told News360 that all of his friends gathered here at the Islamabad club after many years from different parts of Pakistan for spending time together and to recall the great memories in the event of a few hours.
“We want just gossips today. Time is very less, hence, we confiscated all cell phones. The party has just started and the family members of our friends have started calling them. We got a solution, just turn off the mobile phone and throw them to the other side.”
Not only in Pakistan, but people across the globe are also now promoting no-cell phone parties and events to get rid of the digitially social life to come back to the real social version of life with full of colours and beloved ones.
