Empress Market Opens in London After Karachi

After Karachi, the iconic Empress Market has been opened in London but the London shop sells Pakistani cuisine.

Empress Market Kitchen and Bar is situated in London and run by Chef Numra, whose parents had migrated to the United Kingdom.

She defines her restaurant as a blend of indigenous heritage and her urban London lifestyle.

The young chef’s journey started back in 2014 when she opened Bun Kabab, a stall selling famous street food from Karachi, and the evolution of which became Empress Market and Bar in London.

The culinary expert had started it as a weekend hobby but it’s her full-time job now.

She has studied at Leith School of Food to learn desi culinary sensibility.

Empress Market’s menus are a reflection of Numra’s family roots and her current lifestyle in London.

Numra says that Pakistani flavors are the heart of her culinary skills.
