Faisal Vawda makes new predictions about Imran Khan, general elections

Faisal Vawda, Imran Khan, general elections

Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Vawda made new predictions about PTI chief Imran Khan, general elections and default risks to the country.

He made the predictions during the Geo News programme Capital Talk with Hamid Mir on Monday. When questioned about Imran Khan’s fate, Vawda claimed that there is a 99.99 per cent chance of the PTI chief’s disqualification on legal grounds. Advocate Shoaib Shaheen argued with Vawda that he is seeing nothing like this.

However, Vawda continued and said that they can nothing say anything about the miracle. He said that Imran Khan would also lose his political standing in the Punjab government if he insists on the dissolution of the assembly which would not happen.

He claimed that Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Pervaiz Elahi will not take the vote of confidence and there is no chance of the dissolution of the Punjab Assembly. He said that Pervaiz Elahi would face a humiliating defeat in the vote of confidence and PML-N would come into power.

Regarding the general elections, he predicted that the general elections would be held in October if political calm is maintained, otherwise, it would be delayed for at least six months to one year. He claimed that the Constitution allows for delaying the general elections.

To this, Mir immediately expressed surprise at his remarks and questioned whether it is a constitutional move to delay polls. Vawda replied that elections could be postponed during the economic emergency.

The host questioned Vawda whether the global pledges of over $10 billion donations for flood affectees in Pakistan would end default risk or not. To this, Vawda replied that Pakistan will never default even it did not default in the PTI government when the economic situation had worsened but the army brought finances to the country. He said that the army brought investment to the country earlier and it will manage to do it again.

Mir questioned whether he is expecting Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Asim Munir is visiting Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to bring investment and financial assistance to Pakistan. Vawda affirmed that the army chief will do it.

Analysts said Vawda was seemingly elaborating on an organised plan instead of just giving predictions about the political and economic scenarios. They questioned if Vawda was detailing a political and economic plan then he should also tell who is the maker of the plan.
