Faisalabad student torture case: Police face pressure to release Sheikh Danish

FAISALABAD: Faisalabad police allegedly faced pressure from the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) senior leaders for releasing the prime suspect, Sheikh Danish, in the case related to abducting, harassing and torturing a medical student, Khadija.

Renowned businessman Sheikh Danish and his daughter Ana Ali among 16 others including women were nominated in a torture and harassment case filed by a medical student Khadija who had been humiliated and brutally tortured by the accused and her video was made viral on social media after she refused the marriage proposal.

Sheikh Danish is the owner of Best Exporter and a member of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) besides having close connections with PML-N leaders.

Faisalabad businessman abducts, tortures medical student

Sources said that PML-N leader and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah pressurised the Faisalabad police high-ups to release the accused businessman. However, RPO Faisalabad rejected to release the prime suspect.

It emerged that the residents of University Town, Khadija and her brother were abducted by a group of men after she refused a marriage proposal. The video showed that the girl was brutally tortured by the accused who later trimmed her hair while physically abusing her.

A case was lodged at the local police station over the girl’s complaint. According to reports, overall 16 persons including women were nominated in the abduction, torture and harassment case under different sections.

While taking action, Faisalabad police also arrested six accused including Sheikh Danish in the case.

The victim student has alleged in the FIR that on August 8 at 12:30 in the afternoon, Sheikh Danish and his daughter Anna Ali, along with armed men, forcibly entered her house and kicked and punched her in the presence of her mother, brother and her friends. started torturing him and forcefully entered his room and took his 2 mobile phones, Rs500,000 in cash and two gold bracelets.

Sheikh Danish, his daughter and maid cut Khadija’s hair and eyebrows, forced her to lick her slippers and shoes, and made a video of this disgusting act viral on social media.

Later, she was also threatened to give him Rs1 million, otherwise, her video will be made viral on social media.

Sheikh Danish, the owner of Faisalabad Best Export, forced the girl to marry and for refusing to marry, raped the girl, tortured her, cut off her hair besides forcing her to lick the shoes and seeking pardon.

The affected student has demanded to take notice from Chief Minister Punjab and IG Punjab along with RPO Faisalabad.
