Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has suggested modifying the State Emblem of Pakistan and recommended inserting science and technology in it.
Taking to his Twitter account, the information minister suggested replacing jute and tea from the state emblem of Pakistan.
Fawad recommended inserting science and technology in replacement of tea and jute.

Is the minister right?
Fawad’s suggestion seems appropriate if local production of tea and jute is scrutinized.
Representing the basis of its economy, the state emblem of Pakistan features jute and tea. It was adopted in 1954 when East and West Pakistan had not disintegrated.
Tea and jute were the major cash crops of East Pakistan, now Bangladesh.
Still today, Bangladesh is the 10 largest producer of tea in the world while in jute production, it is ranked second in the world after India.

The information minister hasn’t specified any plan when and whether these changes will be made to the national logo.
