FIA has rejected the sexual harassment allegations levelled by the PPP MPA Shazia Sanghar against the VC of BBSUL, Dr Akhtar Baloch.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has rejected the sexual harassment allegations levelled by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) Shazia Karim Sanghar against a vice-chancellor (VC) of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari (BBSUL).

After completing an investigation, the FIA Cyber Crime Cell stated in his report that no evidence was found for sexual harassment by the BBSUL VC Professor Dr Akhtar Baloch after checking the mobile records. FIA sent its investigation to the Sindh government’s inquiry committee for further action.

In February, two vice-chancellors of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU) Larkana and Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari (BBSUL), including Dr Anila Ataur Rehman and Dr Akhtar Baloch respectively, had been sent on forced leaves to initiate a thorough inquiry into allegations of harassment and deaths of female students.
