Foodies, Eateries Defy SOPs on Foodies Heaven Burns Road
The workers of different hotels and restaurants claimed that the police have allowed them to continue working with lights turned off
The administration of Karachi has failed to implement coronavirus Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on the famous food street Burns Road.
The foodies gather on the street every night until Sehar and openly and fearlessly disregard SOPs.
Hardly a few people could be seen wearing a face mask and it seems like the third and deadly wave of coronavirus has failed to intimidate the locals of Karachi.
The violation of SOPs devised by the Sindh government regarding outdoor dining aren’t being regarded and its all happening under administration’s nose.
Most of the hotels and restaurants on the food street operate throughout the night with their lights switched off.
The jurisdiction police have also failed to force eateries closed. The workers of different hotels and restaurants claimed that the police have allowed them to continue working with lights turned off.

Further, the visitors to the Burns Road said they had come from distant localities to eat Sehar but they confessed that deep down, there was a fear as SOPs were not being followed.
They also admitted that the use of face masks by the citizens was rare.
However, the locals were of the view that the eateries should remain open in Ramazan under SOPs.
