Fresh contingents of Sindh police have reached the federal capital Islamabad ahead of the expected long march of Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Fresh contingents of Sindh police have reached the federal capital Islamabad ahead of the expected long march of Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

A journalist – Afzal Nadeem Dogar – wrote on Twitter that Sindh police contingents reached Islamabad to perform security duties ahead of PTI’s expected long march. He added that nearly 6,000 Sindh police officials reached Islamabad so far.

According to ARY News, the additional contingents of Sindh police and Frontier Corps (FC) reached the federal capital.

The contingents comprising 6,000 officials of the Sindh police and FC have arrived in Islamabad and were given accommodation at Police Line Headquarters. It was learnt that 90 platoons of FC and 2,667 Sindh police personnel reached Islamabad to perform security duties ahead of PTI long march.

Some FC personnel were staying at Faisal Masjid’s yard while other contingents of the paramilitary troops were staying at Haji Camp, sources added.

PTI chief Imran Khan had earlier hinted at unveiling the long march’s date on Thursday or Friday.
