George Fulton, a British journalist settled in Pakistan, compared twitter trends in the country to describe Pakistan’s confused collective thinking in two weeks as the previous one took strong exception against derision of low-grade employees on failure to speak English while the latest trend targeted low-grade gardeners for failure to design Allama Iqbal deformed sculpture.
George Fulton shared a tweet to compare trends in two different weeks.
Pak twitter timeline last week: people attacking Cannoli women for mocking lower status staff.
Pak twitter this week: people mocking lower statue of Iqbal made by lower status employees. 🧐 #Iqbal #iqbalstatue

Through it, George Fulton apparently tried to describe Pakistan’s collective thinking.
Just last week, Pakistanis stormed Twitter after a video by female owners of Cannoli Café made a mockery of their manager who was unable to speak English properly.

The low-grade employees have been dejected since then as they did not expect such an outcome after designing Allama Iqbal’s statue merely in affection and with no relevant skill.

This is certainly what George Fulton tried to indicate through his Tweet as the poor gardeners could be spared from criticism after the picture of the sculpture went viral months after its installation at the park.
