Govt Swept PDM on Moral Grounds: PTI MNA Sadaqat Abbasi

The lawmaker said that despite all the challenges from the opposition parties, the government has succeeded over PDM

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and opposition political parties have been engaged in intense campaigning for the Senate poll but according to senior leader Sadaqat Ali Abbasi, the government has flourished over Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).

the Supreme Court (SC) has announced that polling for the senate election cannot be conducted through an open ballot.

In an interview with News360, Member National Assembly (MNA) Sadaqat Ali Abbasi said the priority for PTI was to have election via show-of-hand and only the eligible candidates make it to the upper house of the parliament.

Further, the ruling party’s senior leader stated that the opposition parties have been involved in vote-purchasing and gaining political patronage but they want to put an end to such unscrupulous ‘markets’.

“The people will decide who is standing with the corrupt values and who is against it”, he added.

He also recalled that the party faced several barriers from the opposition. He noted that the opposition created impediments in the budget session as well as Financial Action Task Force (FATF) bill

However, Sadaqat said that the PTI has managed to cope up with all challenges.

Abbasi emphasized that the party has already won on ethical grounds as they have always valued transparency as a key element in the voting process.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has always stood against corruption in which Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League (N) have remained involved for a long period, he said while adding that both parties were also defending the corrupt system even today.
