Opposition to resolution

In the National Assembly, Jamaat-e-Islami member Maulana Abdul Kabar Chitrali opposed the resolution presented by Khawaja Muhammad Asif. He said that Jamaat-e-Islami would oppose any resolution in which the trial of civilians would be in military courts. He said that no one is above the law. Prime Minister, Army Chief and Chief Justice are also not above him.

He raised the question whether the government and the judiciary have failed and the cases are being sent to military courts. If so, all the cases should be sent to military courts or the cases should be tried in civil courts.
