Videos and pictures showed inundated roads, submerged cars, and a large truck lying on its side near Nagan Chowrangi
Heavy monsoon rain hits parts of Karachi yesterday and left many areas in a flood-like situation and city administrator Murtaza Wahab blamed Green Line Bus Service for the inconvenience.
Amid heavy rain, the most affected areas of the metropolitan city were North Karachi and North Nazimabad where the citizens were seen wading through the rainwater and videos showed inundated roads, submerged cars, and a large truck lying on its side near Nagan Chowrangi.

The Green Line Bus Service has almost flawed the drainage system in different areas of the port city.
The situation of North Karachi and North Nazimabad remained wild for several hours after the downpour and the citizens hugely blamed the mass transit infrastructure for the mess.
Not only this, Karachi Administrator Murtaza Wahab also condemned the flawed structure of the green bus service built by the federal government’s Sindh Infrastructure Development Company Ltd (SIDCL).
“The Green Line project has been built in the middle of the road with no drainage system in place. The company finally found a solution and installed two small pipes for that purpose. Last year we had witnessed a similar situation after rains and this year it’s the same again”, he said.
The administrator claimed that the local government has requested SIDCL multiple times to fix the issue but the company pays no heed.
The meteorological department has predicted a few more unusual monsoon showers till the end of September.
