The citizens of the federal capital relished the moments when the weather turned beautiful with rainfall and hailstorm in Islamabad on Earth Day.
The province of Punjab witnessed rain accompanied by strong winds that made the people heaved a sigh of relief amid harsh summer.

Heavy rainfall was also reported in different other cities of the country including Sahiwal, Narowal, Shorkot, Chiniot, Minchanabad, Pakpattan, Karak, and several other cities.
Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasted that a westerly wave is affecting the upper parts of the country which is likely to persist till Friday.
However, this is the harvesting season in Punjab and heavy hailstorm assisted by strong winds can damage the crops in the region.
While Earth Day was observed globally on the same day, the Leaders’ Summit on Climate took place virtually and key measures were announced by prominent leaders to combat climate change issues.
