Harassment Issue: IBA Students Fear Varsity Will Turn Into LUMS
An IBA student Jibrail posted an eyewitness account of harassment on Facebook that backlashed as the Anti-Harassment Committee (AHC) rusticated him
The route the prestigious Institute of Business Administration (IBA) followed in the harassment case has made the students question if it is Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in the making.
An IBA student Jibrail posted an eyewitness account of harassment on Facebook that backlashed as the Anti-Harassment Committee (AHC) rusticated him on September 29.
The committee had asked Jibrail to delete his post from Facebook and also post a public apology.

Following the rigid course of action by IBA, the students think it is becoming another LUMS.
Akbar Zaidi said to our class a few weeks ago “not even a single woman can be wrong” when i asked him today why Tanveer wasn’t dismissed despite this statement he said “we can’t suspend him like this based on heresay” when there was actually a witness present

In June last year, several enrolled and alumna of LUMS shared horrific personal accounts of harassment encounters.
However, they bemoaned that the varsity’s management didn’t take any action against harassers even though they were named and nominated.
Now, IBA students also believe that the fate of their institution will be like LUMS if the example of Jibrail’s case is followed in harassment cases.
