Has NAB Gone Easy on Asif Ali Zardari?
The anti-corruption watchdog is yet to appoint a prosecutor on the appeals against ex-president's acquittal filed nearly 7 years earlier
Apparently, NAB has gone easy on ex-president Asif Ali Zardari which is evident from the fact it has not appointed a prosecutor in appeals filed in 2014 against his acquittal.
Asif Ali Zardari got acquitted in ARY Gold and Ursus Tractor references.
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed an application against Zardari’s acquittal in both references by an accountability court in 2014.

But interestingly, a NAB representative told Islamabad High Court (IHC) division bench on Tuesday that the bureau hasn’t appointed a prosecutor on both appeals.
After this, the high court adjourned the hearing without fixing the next date.
Interestingly, the high court had summoned the record from NAB on both appeals against the acquittal of Asif Ali Zardari in April 2019.
But it seems like the anti-corruption watchdog has gone easy on ex-president Zardari as it is yet to appoint a prosecutor on the appeals filed nearly 7 earlier.
