Holi Celebrations in Pakistan Without Bringing Off SOPs

The event violated the mandatory protocols and the attendees were witnessed without masks

The festival of Hindu community ‘Holi’ was celebrated with fervor in Pakistan like all other parts of the world but the event was marked without bringing off the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and mandatory protocols to combat covid-19.

The popular ancient event of Hindus is commonly known as the festival of colors or the festival of spring as it is celebrated every year on arrival of the season.

Hindus celebrate it by tossing colors on friends and family and cheer the moments with music and dance parties along with social gatherings.

The event was organized at Lahore Ashram by Roshni Kumari, an activist of the Hindu community.

Hindu and Christian communities relished the moments together and a multitude expressed their happiness by painting each other in beautiful colors.

While talking to News360 correspondent Daniyal Rathore, one of the attendees said, “There is no color of religion so we are here to celebrate it together with other communities”.

During Holi celebrations in Lahore, violations were carried out as the attendees enjoyed the event without masks and no social distancing was observed.

On the other hand, the police in Lahore registered an FIR against a citizen for not wearing a mask amid covid-19.

The case was registered in Islampura police station under sections 6 and 7 of the Punjab Infectious Diseases Ordinance 2020.
