Illegal Makeshift Cattle Markets Crop up in Sukkur

The tender bidding process for the official marketplace hasn’t been carried out by the local administration as Eid-ul-Azha is less than two weeks away

Several cattle markets have cropped up in Sukkur as the administration has failed to establish an official cattle market.

The tender bidding process for the official marketplace hasn’t been carried out yet by the local administration even though Eid-ul-Azha is less than two weeks away.

Owing to this, the vendors have set up makeshift roadside markets in residential and commercial areas that are visible sporadically across the city.

The sale and purchase of animals is underway in full swing in these markets.

The administration is also reluctant to carry out action against these makeshift selling points.

The citizens and social activists have called for the administration to move out the cattle markets on the city’s outskirts.
