Prime Minister Imran Khan has confirmed the government is engaged in talks with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to disarm them.
In an exclusive interview with TRT World, Imran Khan endorsed the Afghan Taliban are mediating the talks.

The government had earlier drawn criticism when it had revealed the likelihood of talking with TTP for sustainable peace in the country.
The critics had slammed the government for talking with a proscribed militant group responsible for killing thousands of Pakistanis including children in the APS massacre.
However, the analysts, in a broad spectrum, believe that it is the right step.

Commenting on the objection, they contended that even the US negotiated with the Afghan Taliban despite the group was involved in several attacks on American troops in Afghanistan and was a declared terrorist organization.
They said that if the government succeeds in convincing TTP for putting down arms, it will bring sustainable peace in Pakistan after decades as it will end ambushes on armed forces which have recently increased after the Afghan Taliban takeover in Afghanistan.
